How to make a Birdcage Veil Bridal Hair Accessory

For weddings, a variety of accessories are worn by brides. A traditional bridal accessory is the wedding veil. The wedding veil is used by brides to shield the face during the wedding.

Unlike longer wedding veils used in times past, the short veil style is now on trend for bridal millinery. This articles shares a short and easy to follow tutorial.

Tools for the day:

Scissors

Tape rule

Beads (flatbacks)

Metal comb (3 inches)

Birdcage veil

Hot glue

In place of the metal comb which is also known as a fascinator comb, you can use alligator clips. Choose a suitable colour and for this project, you will need two pieces.

Measure out 16 inches across the length of the birdcage and 8 inches across the width.

Try to follow the pattern of the material when cutting it up.

Spread out the cut fabric, scrunch up the edges and stitch it up. Attach the sewn ends to the metal combs neatly folding over the rough edges.

Repeat the same process for the other end of the birdcage veil. At this point, you can cover up the sewn spots with white ribbon strips and wear it in your hair to see how it looks.

To accessorise the veil glue on flat beads on either sides of the veil in any particular pattern you like.

Use hot glue for quick drying and repeat the same process as often as you like. Let your creativity flow!

This is an easy and fun project and can be replicated with veils of other colours! Will you try this out?
